Caravan for Democracy (www.caravanfordemocracy.org)

Caravan for Democracy High School Edition is an initiative of American Friends of Likud, in cooperation with the Jewish National Fund and Media Watch International. The goal of the Caravan program is to empower Jewish teens to properly respond to the growing anti-Israel rhetoric on their future college campuses. We work together to help inform and prepare these students for the challenges that they will face when they arrive on campus.

There are three key components to the Caravan program that enable the students to obtain, and retain, the necessary information and skills they will need to advocate on behalf of and defend the state of Israel:

A prominent keynote speaker. We, not only, choose a speaker who has the knowledge and insight into the intricacies of Israeli affairs, but also, someone who posseses the poise and sensistivity needed to impart the importance of advocating for Israel to students at the high school level. Past speakers include: Minister Natan Sharansky, Minister for Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs; Dr. Ra'anan Gissin, spokesman for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon; Limor Livnat, Minister of Education, and many others.
Israel activists already on college campuses. We give the high school students the opportunity to interact with college-age Israel activists. This gives the students a first-hand account of what they will soon encounter when they enter college, and stresses the importance of coming to campus prepared. The Panel of college student advocates has proven to be one of the most eye-opening experiences of the program showing that the challenges are real and that they really can make a difference.
Israel advocacy training sessions. Caravan brings in professional advocacy trainers and coaches to teach the students how to take their knowledge of the facts and use it to properly respond to, and inform others with confidence.

In our first year, Caravan for Democracy High School Edition reached over 3,500 teens in 10 cities across the United States. We hosted over 25 programs, and over 40 individual events, and it doesn't stop there, follow-up events are also scheduled in each visited city. Through Caravan for Democracy High School Edition, Americans Friends of Likud, Jewish National Fund and Media Watch International are working together to make a difference for Israel, in every generation.


	Join American Friends of Likud and have the opportunity to voice your opinions and ask your questions to American, Israeli and other foreign politicians and members of the media at exclusive, members-only, meetings and seminars. You will also gain the right to vote and to stand for election in American Friends of Likud’s internal electoral process, and for USA delegations to Zionist Congresses.
